Script writing Example for : RECONSIDER

Legend/Note: The statements inside the bracket [Statement] are instruction/guidance/hint/information for the Chair only and should not be read/announced to the audience.

The scenario and the verbiages are from me and may or may not be accurate. Check!

A: Madam /Mr. President, I move that the motion be Reconsidered.
B: Second!

Chair: Member A, tell us whether or not your original vote on this motion was in prevailing side?

A: No, my vote was not is prevailing side. 
Chair: This motion is out of order, continue the previous or scheduled business

OR

A: Yes, my vote was in prevailing side.

Chair: It is moved and seconded that the main motion be Reconsidered.

 (a) State the question on the motion to Reconsider:

It is moved and seconded to Reconsider the main motion, "That the annual dinner dance be held under the stars at Riverfront Park." Are you ready for the question? [Pausing for response]

Reconsider is not Debatable nor amendable and requires majority.

(b) Put the question on the motion to Reconsider:

Are you ready for the question? [Pausing for response]

The question is on the motion to Reconsider the main motion, "That the annual dinner dance be held under the stars at Riverfront Park."

Those in favor of reconsidering the main motion, say aye. [Pausing for response]

Those opposed, say no. [Pausing for response]

(c) Announce results

The ayes have it, and the motion is adopted. The main motion is reconsidered.

[Go through the adoption of the main motion again from beginning to the end]

OR:

(c) Announce results

The noes have it, and the reconsidering the motion is lost.

(d) Announce the business that follows
